BA (Hons) Interior Design

In a world where there is a strong focus on reduce, reuse, and recycle, it is the responsibility of the designer to promote and encourage eco-friendly designs. My design motivation is sustainability, use of colour and adaptability which are growing factors in contemporary design in response to the increased demand for modern housing where space is limited.

Driven by client requirements I define a focal point which brings the rest of the design together and creates a natural flow to any space and by using the different approaches available I can reimagine how any space or existing building could be redesigned but still retain its core identity and link to the local environment.

As a new designer, my creativity and willingness to experiment with new ideas illustrates my open approach and desire to explore new Interior Design styles and broaden my skills.

Mewn byd lle mae ffocws mawr ar arbed, ailddefnyddio ac ailgylchu, cyfrifoldeb y dylunydd yw hyrwyddo ac annog dyluniadau ecogyfeillgar. Cynaliadwyedd, defnyddio lliw a gallu i addasu yw fy nghymhelliant dylunio, sy’n ffactorau cynyddol mewn dylunio cyfoes, mewn ymateb i’r galw cynyddol am dai modern lle mae gofod yn gyfyngedig.

Wedi fy ysgogi gan ofynion cleientiaid, rwy’n pennu canolbwynt sy’n dwyn gweddill y dyluniad ynghyd ac yn creu llif naturiol i unrhyw ofod. Trwy ddefnyddio’r gwahanol ddulliau sydd ar gael, gallaf ail-ddychmygu sut y gellid ailgynllunio unrhyw ofod neu adeilad presennol ond gan gadw ei hunaniaeth graidd a’i gyswllt â’r amgylchedd lleol.

Fel dylunydd newydd, mae fy nghreadigrwydd a pharodrwydd i arbrofi gyda syniadau newydd yn dangos fy null agored a’m hawydd i archwilio arddulliau Dylunio Mewnol newydd ac ehangu fy sgiliau.

Unlike some, I cannot say that I always knew Interior Design was the route I was destined to go down. While I have always had a keen eye and a strong love for artistic design, for me, designing a space seemed like more of a hobby rather than a job that I could pursue...

I’m not one for grand philosophical ideas through design that will ultimately end up being someones living or work space. As a designer all I really aspire to do is create something that is of value to the person using that bit of design whether it’s a space or a...

What interior design means to me is creating a space that reaches its purpose’s full potential. Creating a successful interior design is to produce designs that are easily understood, have functionality and have recognisable aesthetics. When approaching an interior...

The intrigue within me in relation to creating inclusive dimensions derives from being well travelled and primarily being in close contact with disabled children. In 2015 I volunteered for an organisation called Allsorts in Stroud, aiming to provide fun activities for...

To me, design is about working with others to find solutions to their problems. It is only by getting onto someone else’s level and experiencing their journey and needs can one create an experience that doesn’t make assumptions. It is how we use design as a tool to...
