I had always been fascinated by natural/random fluid patterns, and marbling allowed me to experiment and make my own patterns, as well as allowing me to develop my knowledge of colour. With this technique I am able to apply colourful almost psychedelic patterns onto paper, as well as other materials.
Over the past year I have develop my marbling skills to able to utilise this technique of timber, where the fluid and colourful patterns of the marbling interact with the natural grain and tone of the wood to create wondrous compositions, allowing me to decorate furniture in an interesting way.
These reclaimed and refurbished pieces catalogue how marbling as a process can revitalise a piece of furniture and showcase how the marbling can be controlled so as to not lose the wood it is printed on, utilising the timber as another element in the overall composition. These items only showcase a small selection of patterns and possibilities when decorating furniture and larger objects.

I aim to developing my marbling, and expand its use onto other materials such as metal and plastic. Furthermore I want push to do larger prints, as the ability to print on larger surfaces allows for more complex compositions and a greater versatility with this medium.

Mae patrymau hylifol naturiol/hap wedi apelio’n fawr ataf erioed, ac mae marmori wedi fy nghaniatáu i arbrofi ac i wneud fy mhatrymau i fy hun yn ogystal ag wedi caniatáu i mi ddatblygu fy ngwybodaeth am liw. Gyda’r dechneg hon rwy’n gallu rhoi patrymau lliwgar sydd bron â bod yn seicedelig ar bapur yn ogystal ag ar ddeunyddiau eraill. Yn ystod y flwyddyn ddiwethaf rwyf wedi datblygu fy sgiliau marmori er mwyn defnyddio technegau pren lle y bydd patrymau lliwgar a hylifol y marmori yn rhyngweithio â graen ac arlliw naturiol y pren i greu cyfansoddiadau rhyfeddol a fydd yn fy ngalluogi i addurno celfi mewn ffordd ddiddorol. Bydd y darnau hyn sydd wedi’u hadfer a’u hadnewyddu yn dangos sut gall marmori fel proses roi bywyd newydd i gelficyn a dangos sut gellir rheoli’r marmori er mwyn peidio â cholli’r pren y mae wedi’i brintio arno, gan ddefnyddio’r pren yn elfen arall yn y cyfansoddiad cyffredinol. Mae’r eitemau hyn ond yn dangos casgliad bach o batrymau a phosibiliadau wrth addurno celfi a gwrthrychau mwy o faint.

Rwy’n bwriadu datblygu fy sgiliau marmori ac ehangu ei ddefnydd i gynnwys deunyddiau eraill megis metel a phlastig. Ar ben hyn rwyf am wthio i wneud printiau mwy o faint gan y bydd y gallu i brintio ar arwynebau mwy o faint yn caniatáu cyfansoddiadau mwy cymhleth a mwy o amrywiaeth o ran defnydd gyda’r cyfrwng hwn.
