BA (Hons) Interior Design

My design ethos is guided by scrutinizing and considering culture and identity in a modern, globalized world. I strongly believe that every interior space should have a sense of identity, location and character which through their form, detail and materiality manifest different personalities with relevance and fascination.

My method focuses on knowing the purpose of every idea used, being both critical and instinctive. I strive to make a connection between my inspirations and my abstract design decisions, in order to achieve a sophisticated outcome.

I intend to create contemporary spaces with a clear identity, I always aim to explore ways of embedding stronger means of evoking culture and retrieving a sense of heritage, but in a modern way. This allows me to create a new consciousness amongst a community that generates a long term engagement with individuals through a cultural atmosphere.

Mae fy ethos dylunio yn cael ei arwain gan graffu ac ystyried diwylliant a hunaniaeth mewn byd modern byd-eang. Rwy’n credu’n gryf y dylai fod gan bob gofod mewnol ymdeimlad o hunaniaeth, lleoliad a chymeriad sydd, drwy eu ffurf, yn amlygu’n sylweddol a manylu ar wahanol bersonoliaethau gyda pherthnasedd a chyfaredd.

Mae fy null yn canolbwyntio ar wybod diben pob syniad a ddefnyddir, gan fod yn feirniadol ac yn reddfol. Rwy’n ceisio gwneud cysylltiad rhwng fy ysbrydoliaeth a’m penderfyniadau dylunio haniaethol, er mwyn sicrhau canlyniad soffistigedig.

Rwy’n bwriadu creu gofodau cyfoes gyda hunaniaeth glir, rwy’n ceisio ymchwilio bob amser i ffyrdd o ymgorffori ffordd gryfach o ysgogi diwylliant ac adfer ymdeimlad o dreftadaeth, ond mewn ffordd fodern. Mae hyn yn fy ngalluogi i greu ymwybyddiaeth newydd ymysg cymuned sy’n cynhyrchu ymgysylltiad hirdymor gydag unigolion trwy awyrgylch diwylliannol.

Unlike some, I cannot say that I always knew Interior Design was the route I was destined to go down. While I have always had a keen eye and a strong love for artistic design, for me, designing a space seemed like more of a hobby rather than a job that I could pursue...

I’m not one for grand philosophical ideas through design that will ultimately end up being someones living or work space. As a designer all I really aspire to do is create something that is of value to the person using that bit of design whether it’s a space or a...

The intrigue within me in relation to creating inclusive dimensions derives from being well travelled and primarily being in close contact with disabled children. In 2015 I volunteered for an organisation called Allsorts in Stroud, aiming to provide fun activities for...

To me, design is about working with others to find solutions to their problems. It is only by getting onto someone else’s level and experiencing their journey and needs can one create an experience that doesn’t make assumptions. It is how we use design as a tool to...
