Telling a Narrative
My work explores the rich collections of myths and legends, some well known narratives that have engaged our imagination for centuries. I alter the story, to be seen from the standpoint of the animal, making them the victim and not us. Myths have been recorded over time in which the meaning has changed. I have considered the story of Red Riding Hood and George and the Dragon and reinterperated this and in a sense turned this narrative on its head. I use clay to create new narratives, like the author uses pages in a book to weave his stories.
