During these difficult times I am interested in how art can still hold a sense of importance in our lives. In a way it feels primitive to mark down major events in our lives through image and colour. It could be this primitive nature that makes art more important to us in these unstable times. Through the painting and mark making I have done I want to show how our lives are changing and being forced into a lonely physical world. With expressive, high energy paintings of abandoned furniture and dominating shapes, I want to show how our lives have become increasingly absent in the physical world and how we all fear one another and the ever-increasing death toll.

Yn ystod y cyfnod anodd hwn, mae gen i ddiddordeb sut y gall barhau o gynnal ymdeimlad o bwysigrwydd yn ein bywydau. Mewn ffordd, mae’n teimlo’n gyntefig i nodi digwyddiadau mawr yn ein bywydau drwy ddelwedd a lliw. Efallai mai’r natur gyntefig hon sy’n gwneud celf yn bwysicach i ni yn yr adegau ansefydlog sydd ohoni. Drwy’r peintio a’r creu marciau, rydw i eisiau dangos sut mae ein bywydau’n newid a sut rydyn ni’n cael ein gorfodi i fyd ffisegol unig. Gyda phaentiadau mynegiannol, llawn egni o ddodrefn segur a ffurfiau dominyddol, rydw i eisiau dangos sut mae ein bywydau wedi dod yn fwyfwy absennol yn y byd ffisegol a sut rydyn ni i gyd yn ofnus o’n gilydd a’r nifer cynyddol o farwolaethau.
