BA (Hons) Product Design

As an empathetic and motivated designer, I approach my work with a user centred and research lead mind set. I ensure I take the time to collect detailed and wide research to create a memorable and enjoyable experience for users.

Throughout my 3 years of study, I have developed massively as a designer and individual. I have found myself in challenging and new situations that have tested my skill set. Participating in various 24 hour live projects has allowed me to work with others and lead teams while under pressure from industry clients.

Throughout my time at Cardiff Metropolitan University, I have held various roles within the school of Art and design, roles such as course, year, and school representative. These positions have helped develop my public speaking, teamwork, and organisation skills. I have been able to apply these skills directly to tasks within my design course. Being the School Rep during the pandemic has tested my ability to adapt to situations while completing my final year work and maintaining a professional relationship between the staff and students.

I am a determined, engaged, and outgoing individual; I am passionate to learn new skills and continually challenge myself. During my final year I have completed projects on a range of subjects including aromatherapy, cycling, care home service and completed my dissertation on the future of prosthetics. I look forward to developing my career in many areas of design, I am excited to see what the world of design has in store.

Fel dylunydd empathetig a chryf fy nghymhelliant, rwy’n dod at fy ngwaith gyda meddylfryd sy’n canolbwyntio ar ddefnyddwyr ac wedi’i lywio gan ymchwil. Rwy’n sicrhau fy mod yn cymryd yr amser i gasglu ymchwil fanwl ac eang i greu profiad cofiadwy a phleserus i ddefnyddwyr.

Trwy gydol fy 3 blynedd o astudio, rwyf wedi datblygu’n aruthrol fel dylunydd ac unigolyn. Rwyf wedi cael fy hun mewn sefyllfaoedd heriol a newydd sydd wedi rhoi prawf ar fy set sgiliau. Mae cymryd rhan mewn amrywiol brosiectau byw 24 awr wedi gadael i mi weithio gydag eraill ac arwain timau wrth fod dan bwysau o gleientiaid diwydiant.

Trwy gydol fy amser ym Mhrifysgol Metropolitan Caerdydd, rwyf wedi dal amryw o rolau o fewn yr ysgol Celf a Dylunio, fel cynrychiolydd cwrs, blwyddyn ac ysgol. Mae’r swyddi hyn wedi helpu i ddatblygu fy ngallu i siarad yn gyhoeddus, gwaith tîm, a sgiliau trefnu. Rwyf wedi gallu cymhwyso’r sgiliau hyn yn uniongyrchol i dasgau o fewn fy nghwrs dylunio. Mae bod yn Gynrychiolydd yr Ysgol yn ystod y pandemig wedi profi fy ngallu i addasu i sefyllfaoedd ar yr un pryd â chwblhau gwaith fy mlwyddyn olaf a chynnal perthynas broffesiynol rhwng y staff a myfyrwyr.

Rwy’n unigolyn penderfynol, cysylltiedig ac allblyg; rwy’n angerddol am ddysgu sgiliau newydd ac yn herio fy hunan yn gyson. Yn ystod fy mlwyddyn olaf, rwyf wedi cwblhau prosiectau ar ystod o bynciau gan gynnwys aromatherapi, seiclo, gwasanaeth cartref gofal a chwblhau fy nhraethawd am ddyfodol prostheteg. Edrychaf ymlaen at ddatblygu fy ngyrfa mewn llawer o feysydd dylunio, ac yn gyffrous i weld beth sydd o’m blaen ym myd dylunio.

Scents of life builds scent association to be used as less intrusive alarms, reminders and memory triggers, creating a natural flowing routine. 96% of people answered yes when asked if a specific scent reminds them of a certain date, time or place.

The Scents of life app allows users to control their circular sustainable subscription, set up timed diffuses and manage their device settings such as scent strength, light colour and refill times. The different chambers allow for different scents to be released from one device.

Hue is a bike light offering a blend of retro aesthetic and modern function. It allows personalised features while maintaining trusting and safe function. It can be displayed to the side or in the middle of the handle bars due to the strap design.

Hue offers interchangeable straps allowing users to match their light to their bike, with different colours and materials available the user can even use their light on more than on bike.
