BA (Hons) Product Design

Over the last three years studying Product Design at the Cardiff School of Art & Design, I have worked on many projects such as designing a gym & laptop bag, a high-end portable speaker, and a computer mouse which was brand-aligned to Razer. These were all enjoyable, allowing myself to explore various areas within design.

Alongside studying Product Design, I have been fortunate enough to have been approached for a few commissions. These include a single cover, an album cover, a logo for a streetwear brand and a logo for a radio station, with the latter two being my favourite projects. The first logo I had designed was one for a brand called OUTLW, which was founded by a known designer in the streetwear community, Casper Masi. The entire aesthetic of the brand is very western-themed, therefore he wanted the logo to be heavily inspired by the one used by Harley Davidson. The second logo was for a station called EXO Radio, and they left it completely up to me for its aesthetic. I decided to turn the ‘O’ into a planet, as the term ‘exo’ is short for ‘exoplanet’.

Looking into the future, I would love to continue my design journey, specialising in music artwork, logos and potentially clothing design. I have recently secured a commission to design a merchandise item for a popular R&B duo who go by the name of THEY. This is an exciting opportunity, and I hope more will come.

Dros y tair blynedd diwethaf o astudio Dylunio Cynnyrch yn Ysgol Celf a Dylunio Caerdydd, rwyf wedi gweithio ar nifer mawr o brosiectau megis dylunio bagiau campfa a gliniadur, uchelseinyddion cludadwy pen uchaf y farchnad, a llygoden gyfrifiadurol wedi’i halinio â brand Razer. Mwynheais wneud y rhain i gyd, gan iddynt fy ngalluogi i ymchwilio i wahanol feysydd o fewn dylunio.

Ar yr un pryd ag astudio Dylunio Cynnyrch, rwy’n ddigon ffodus y cysylltwyd â mi am nifer o gomisiynau. Bu’r rhain yn cynnwys clawr unigol, clawr albwm, logo ar gyfer brand dillad stryd a logo ar gyfer gorsaf radio, a’r ddau olaf oedd fy hoff brosiectau. Y logo cyntaf a ddyluniais oedd un ar gyfer brand o’r enw OUTLW, a sefydlwyd gan Casper Masi, sy’n ddylunydd adnabyddus yn y gymuned dillad stryd. Mae esthetig cyfan y brand yn seiliedig i raddau helaeth ar ffilmiau cowbois, felly roedd e eisiau i’r logo gael ei ysbrydoli’n drwm gan yr un a ddefnyddir gan Harley Davidson. Roedd yr ail logo ar gyfer gorsaf o’r enw EXO Radio, ac fe’i gadawyd yn llwyr i mi benderfynu ar ei esthetig. Penderfynais droi’r ‘O’ yn blaned, gan fod y term ‘exo’ yn fyr am ‘ecsoblaned’.

Wrth edrych tua’r dyfodol, byddwn wrth fy modd yn parhau â fy nhaith ddylunio, gan arbenigo mewn gwaith celf cerddoriaeth, logos ac o bosib dylunio dillad. Yn ddiweddar, rwyf wedi sicrhau comisiwn i ddylunio eitem o farsiandïaeth ar gyfer deuawd R&B poblogaidd sy’n mynd o dan enw THEY. Mae hwn yn gyfle cyffrous, ac rwy’n gobeithio y bydd mwy i ddod.

Relationship Simulator

THEY.Station – Relationship Simulator

Prior to the launch of their latest album, THEY. had released music videos all following the theme that relationships are a game. I further developed this idea and created a video game-esque cover. After substantial recognition, I am now working with the popular R&B duo, and the product will soon be released as a merchandise item.
