Within this project I am exploring the nature of free will and how this in turn relates to creativity and originality. Highlighting determinist and fatalist viewpoints I want to present the argument that our own free will is an illusion, resulting from factors beyond our control. With our personalities as they are at any given moment, we will always make the same choice when presented with the same option. They only factors that can change our mind being further outside influences. You can’t choose to change your mind any more than a number can choose to change its value. Once entered into the system of life, our upbringing, the people we meet, and even the fundamental traits we were born with are what ultimately guide our actions. None of these are within our control of course. All very interesting. However, as a creative I feel this is a particularly pertinent point for discussion, both due to its implications regarding the nature of originality. But also when considering the impact our practice can have when influencing others. All of which I have presented in the guise of an “adventure book”.

O fewn y prosiect hwn rwy’n ymchwilio i natur ewyllys rydd a sut mae hyn yn ei dro’n gysylltiedig â chreadigrwydd a naws wreiddiol. Gan amlygu safbwyntiau penderfyniadol a thyngedfennol rwyf eisiau cyflwyno’r ddadl bod ein hewyllys rydd yn lledrith sy’n deillio o ffactorau y tu hwnt i’n rheolaeth. Gyda’n personoliaethau fel y maent ar unrhyw adeg benodol, byddwn bob amser yn gwneud yr un dewis wrth gael ein cyflwyno gyda’r un opsiwn. Yr unig ffactorau a all newid ein meddwl yw dylanwadau allanol pellach. Ni allwch ddewis newid eich meddwl yn fwy nag y gall rhif ddewis newid ei werth. Wrth i ni gyrchu’r system fywyd, mae ein magwraeth, y bobl rydym yn cwrdd â nhw a hyd yn oed y rhinweddau cynhenid y cawsom ein geni â nhw yw’r hyn sy’n tywys ein gweithredoedd yn y pen draw. Nid yw’r un o’r rhain o fewn ein rheolaeth wrth gwrs. I gyd yn ddiddorol iawn. Fodd bynnag, fel rhywun creadigol rwy’n teimlo bod hyn yn bwynt arbennig o berthnasol i’r drafod oherwydd ei oblygiadau o ran natur gwreiddioldeb. Ond hefyd wrth ystyried yr effaith y gall ein harfer ei gael wrth ddylanwadu ar eraill. Rwyf wedi cyflwyno hyn oll ar ffurf “llyfr antur”.
