Carys Perry

BA (Hons) Artist Designer Maker

Touch

Drawing is a key element of my practice and I have previously worked with fabric, stitch, light and wire as well as traditional drawing materials.

For this work I wanted to develop my interest in the body and make a piece about movement, about energy and energy exchange in the body. The hands became the expression of this. When two people touch there is a point of contact where energy or electricity can move between them.

I wanted to take my drawings off the page and began working in wire to create physical drawings that play with a 3D concept whilst also responding to its linear quality.
