My artwork reflects the ecological effects of climate change and plastic pollution. Ecosystems and life on Earth are subjected to global changes, resulting from human activities. My artwork highlights our carelessness with discarding plastic which as a result has caused our oceans to become polluted.

I have demonstrated new techniques and ideas to showcase the serious environmental issues we face with our planet. I am especially interested in creating work highlighting plastic pollution. I have made my first ever sculpture entirely from recycled plastic and repurposed materials.

I have shown a passion and drive to make a stand about this topic. I personally believe I will get people to rethink how they reuse plastic or discard their waste. I have shown that plastic pollution is harming our oceans and the living organisms that live within it. That in time will essentially are harm us too.

I want this sculpture to remind us of our sinful act disregarding plastic that has ruined our seas and our planet. The sculpture was made to bring awareness about plastic pollution, but I also want it to be a reflection on how you can prevent more plastic from being dumped into our oceans.

My work fits in with contemporary art because I bring a new perspective on plastic pollution. I have made art in my own interpretation of what I think will be enough to change people’s perspectives on the matter.

Mae fy ngwaith celf yn adlewyrchu effeithiau ecolegol newid yn yr hinsawdd a llygredd plastig. Mae ecosystemau a bywyd ar y ddaear yn destun newidiadau byd-eang sy’n deillio o weithgareddau dynol. Mae fy ngwaith celf yn tynnu sylw at ein diofalwch wrth waredu plastig, a chanlyniad hynny yw llygru’n cefnforoedd.

Rydw i wedi arddangos technegau a syniadau newydd i dynnu sylw at y materion amgylcheddol difrifol sy’n wynebu’n planed. Mae gen i ddiddordeb arbennig mewn creu gwaith sy’n tynnu sylw at lygredd plastig. Lluniais fy ngherflun cyntaf erioed yn gyfan gwbl o blastig wedi’i ailgylchu a deunyddiau wedi’u hailbwrpasu.

Rydw i wedi dangos angerdd a chymhelliant i wneud safiad am y pwnc hwn. Credaf yn bersonol y byddaf yn llwyddo i wneud i bobl ailfeddwl am sut y maen nhw’n ailddefnyddio plastig neu’n taflu eu gwastraff. Rydw i wedi dangos bod llygredd plastig yn niweidio ein cefnforoedd a’r organebau byw sy’n byw ynddyn nhw. Ymhen amser, bydd hynny’n niweidiol i ninnau hefyd.

Rydw i eisiau i’r cerflun hwn ein hatgoffa o’n gweithred bechadurus wrth ddiystyru’r plastig sydd wedi difetha ein moroedd a’n planed. Lluniwyd y cerflun i hybu ymwybyddiaeth o lygredd plastig, ond rydw i hefyd am iddo fod yn destun myfyrio ynghylch sut y gellir atal rhagor o blastig rhag cael ei ddadlwytho i’n cefnforoedd.

Mae fy ngwaith yn cyd-fynd â chelf gyfoes oherwydd rwy’n cyflwyno persbectif newydd ar lygredd plastig. Rydw i wedi creu celf o’m dehongliad fy hun a fydd, yn fy marn i, yn ddigon i newid safbwyntiau pobl ar y mater.

My artwork was initially inspired by the rave scene which is usually an intense environment of music, colour and lights. I decided to recreate the feelings that my experience evoked, with the use of illuminative acrylics and spray paints on canvas. As spray painting...

Our species has become increasingly disconnected from nature. I focus on landscapes of personal significance and/or landscapes that have been disrupted by industrial use. Materials from these sites (often rocks, muds, and bricks) are used through a process-orientated...

Non-linear narratives such as unreliable memories, leaky dreams and deja vu are a central reference within my practice. I address the structure of these forms of narrative using repetition, replication and iterations of time. My work is largely sculptural, using...

Exploring the fragmentation of memory through the physicality of found objects and the spoken word, my work has become an archive of my family history. Due to the archival nature of my work, I replicate ways of preserving my objects through the attentiveness of their...

In my current practice I am concerned with the objectivity and phenomenology of colour. Through using media such as light and coloured acetate, my present work is intentionally focused and uncluttered, allowing colour to be considered as a singularity without any...

With a love for colour my work addresses form and shape and the impact this has on a space. I am demonstrating how the use of bright colour can create maximum optical impact. I’m interested in pattern and repetition to create a visual aesthetic whilst whilst working...
