Grandpa’s Keys
I found an old tin of keys among the remaining possessions when clearing out my grandparent’s home. Most of their uses long forgotten, yet kept safe by my Grandpa from those who might throw out the clutter. I have chosen to give them a new purpose by documenting them through drawing and various printmaking techniques. The latest collection of prints are monoprints, a quick and painterly technique I’ve found suited to these bold and symbolic images. The actual objects are shown alongside these prints in an assemblage piece which acts as a ‘key’ in itself. Each key is numbered and corresponds to an image of the same number.
