Drawing from a number of influences and ideas, Square bar, painted exists as a clear display of process and artistic development.

Distinct lines and an undercurrent of geometric form allude to early 20th century movements such as Constructivism and Cubism, while the use of line as a means of dividing and manipulating space displays obvious influence by the sculptural works of Caro, Smith and early Picasso. The continuing relevance of these concepts are reflected throughout the contemporary art world.

The piece exhibited presents a disordered form, welded, cut, ground down and reassembled, in this way it is a step in the continual process towards personal satisfaction and potential finality. The rework-able nature of steel provides endless sculptural possibilities and opportunity for growth.

Square bar, painted is a frozen moment in an unfolding practice.

Gan ddefnyddio nifer o ddylanwadau a syniadau, mae Square bar, wedi’i beintio yn bodoli i ddangos yn glir y broses a’r datblygiad artistig.

Mae llinellau pendant a ffurf geometrig o danynt yn cyfeirio at fudiadau o’r 20fed ganrif gynnar megis Lluniadaeth a Chiwbiaeth, a bydd defnyddio llinell yn fodd i rannu a thrin a thrafod gofod yn dangos dylanwad amlwg cerfluniau Caro, Smith a Picasso cynnar. Mae perthnasedd parhaol y cysyniadau hyn wedi’u hadlewyrchu ar draws y byd celf cyfoes.

Mae’r darn sy’n cael ei arddangos yn cyflwyno ffurf ddi-drefn, wedi’i weldio, ei thorri, ei malu i lawr a’i hail-gydosod, yn y ffordd hon mae’n gam yn y broses barhaus tuag at foddhad personol a therfynoldeb posib. Mae natur ail-weithiadwy dur yn cynnig posibiliadau cerfluniol a chyfleoedd di-ben-draw i dyfu.

Mae Square bar, wedi’i beintio, yn foment wedi’i rewi mewn ymarfer sy’n datblygu.

My current work is an exploration of self, in relation to historic trauma and mental instability. I do this by creating loud and abstract tufted installations that monopolize a space, as if they demand to be talked about and will not be ignored. My work has an obvious...
