Bits and Bugs

Bugs, insects and creepy crawlies have always intrigued me. Their leg articulation, systematic ways of living and somewhat startling characteristics have only drawn me closer; this small collection of insect-like outcomes display these attributes. Two of the insect-like outcomes co-exist on their circular territory. One tries to impress the other with gifts and together they keep their territory clean. Separately, the Robot Bug is an example of how insects are systematic creatures of habit and the Runner Bug shows off leg articulation and movement. Scattered around the pair’s territory are other examples of insect’s power, beauty and startling nature.

Throughout the past three years I have expanded my skillset, working in many material and processes from figurative modelling to welding all types of metal. I really enjoy the contrast between raw craftsmanship and technology, this is why I have chosen to combine my blacksmithing skills with my abilities in physical computing.
