Waterside Art Centre
The project is based on the development of a vacant site in Cardiff Bay to provide an exciting new waterside Arts Centre. The site is located on Britannia Quay (post code CF10 4WZ).
The use of the allocated plot will be for a new proposed art centre for the heart of Cardiff Bay. The building will hold up to 400 people for exhibitions, shows and art exhibits with an emphasis on including the local art community. The building footprint maximises the available plot area to provide the required functional spaces. The scale of the building respects that of its immediate adjoining neighbours and the local architecture generally. The external appearance of the design has been influenced by the surrounding area and development, meaning that cladding materials such as glass and marble will be used.
