Common Tongue is a magazine in celebration of the arts and music community in Cardiff and South Wales.

The meaning behind the name of the magazine, Common Tongue, shows how arts, music and entertainment is the fabric which binds people together to form communities and relationships which remain unbreakable, no matter what language a person may speak, or what disability they have. While the magazine intends on celebrating arts and music, it critically assesses what needs to be improved for everyone to feel welcomed in participating in the community, showing the importance and power social activity through arts, music and entertainment has on peoples’ lives.

Cylchgrawn yw Common Tongue sy’n dathlu’r gymuned celfyddydau a cherddoriaeth yng Nghaerdydd a de Cymru.

Mae’r ystyr y tu ôl i enw’r cylchgrawn, Common Tongue, yn dangos mai’r celfyddydau, cerddoriaeth ac adloniant yw’r ffabrig sy’n uno pobl er mwyn creu cymunedau a chydberthnasau sy’n parhau’n gadarn, ni waeth pa iaith y bydd person yn ei siarad, na pha anabledd sydd ganddynt. Er mai nod y cylchgrawn yw dathlu’r celfyddydau a cherddoriaeth, mae’n asesu’n feirniadol yr hyn sydd angen ei wella er mwyn i bawb deimlo eu bod yn cael eu croesawu i gymryd rhan yn y gymuned, gan ddangos y pwysigrwydd a’r pŵer a gaiff gweithgarwch cymdeithasol drwy’r celfyddydau, cerddoriaeth ac adloniant ar fywydau pobl.
