BA (Hons) Ceramics

Blueprint

Inspired by the vibrant art scene of her home city of Bristol and her love of illustration, Katie references the cultural hubs pottery heritage using the traditional Cobalt Oxide painting of the classic Willow Pattern. Decorating her slip-casted teacup shaped vessels with her original continuous line drawings, she connects the viewer with the process from her 2D sketches to her finished 3D collection, unravelling the narrative of the traditional Willow Pattern and revealing her passion for drawing and exploration into her ceramic work.
