The Waterside
A Multi-use, family friendly building to be set in the heart of Cardiff Bay. A place for local residents to relax and soak up the atmosphere, indulging in some posh nosh at the roof top restaurant or perusing some local art work before catching a show.
This project incorporates a wide variety of different uses throughout its foot print, creating a fun, and relaxed family atmosphere.
The building has been inspired by the architect Shigeru Ban, a pioneer in his field of using locally sourced materials and in particular cardboard. A real effort has been made to create a high tech building utilising a cardboard structure. Wanting to keep the envelope of the building in natural tones, colour has been injected into the spaces with translucent, coloured glazing.
