Roz Adams works with both digital and traditional craft techniques in her practice. She casts different materials together to highlight the relationships between form, process and materiality. She works predominantly in metals, pursuing the intensive processes involved in the creation of objects which carry historical connotations of traditional sculpture. The making process becomes synonymous with the objects themselves.
In this work Roz uses the mathematical construct of the golden ratio to represent the relationship between form and surface. She uses pewter cast into bronze to create whole forms, demonstrating the utilization of different melting temperatures in the casting process. The process is depicted by a continual 7,000 word visual graphic showing the intensive methods involved in the making of this work.
