Product Design to me is making functional products beautiful, in a way that excites the user.
During my 3 years studying BA (Hons) Product Design my love for beautiful, user centred design has matured, allowing me to excel and enjoy all stages of the design process from sketch ideation to final 3D modelling and everything between. I have worked on a wide range of briefs that have allowed me to experience working well in a design collective as well as individually to express my desire and ability to create innovative and exciting new products with the user at heart.
I aim to take the skills I have learnt at Cardiff Met to make a real difference in the world of design, with sustainability at the forefront of my design ethos.
Dylunio Cynnyrch i mi yw gwneud cynhyrchion ymarferol yn hardd, mewn ffordd sy’n cyffroi’r defnyddiwr.
Yn ystod fy 3 blynedd yn astudio BA (Anrh) Dylunio Cynnyrch, mae fy nghariad am ddyluniad hardd, â’r defnyddiwr yn ganolog iddo, wedi aeddfedu gan ganiatáu i mi ragori a mwynhau pob cam y broses ddylunio o fraslunio syniadau i fodelu 3D terfynol a phopeth yn y canol. Rwyf wedi gweithio ar ystod eang o friffiau sydd wedi rhoi profiad i mi o weithio’n dda mewn cydweithfa ddylunio yn ogystal ag yn unigol i fynegi fy awydd a’m gallu i greu cynhyrchion newydd arloesol a chyffrous sy’n hoelio’r sylw ar y defnyddiwr.
Fy nod yw mynd â’r sgiliau rwyf wedi’u dysgu ym Met Caerdydd i wneud gwahaniaeth gwirioneddol ym myd dylunio, gyda chynaladwyedd ar flaen f’ethos ddylunio.
A new and unique 500ml Sigg bottle and Universal Hydration Tracking Lid and app encourages festival goers to maintain good health and well-being at music festivals, allowing them to control and track their hydration levels throughout the day and supplement their health and well-being with a slow-release vitamin feature.
Unobtrusive Safety for All. A universal collection of unobtrusive bathroom assistive aids alongside a docking system that future-proofs bathrooms, making them inclusive and adaptable for all users to live, enjoy and stay safe by preventing slips, falls and injuries whilst bathing, during every stage of their lives.
The Connect Collection offers users a new adaptable assistive product experience that they can live, enjoy and grow with, designed to remove the stigma surrounding existing, obtrusive bathroom aids, offering a subtle and stylish yet safe product, aiming to prevent slips and falls within the bathroom.
This short project allowed me to reflect upon the streamlined design movement, analysing a series of famous streamlined designs/products to gain inspiration and understanding of a range of iconic design movements and apply them within my own sketches and products.
