Insula, meaning ‘island’, is a typeface designed to bring attention towards the current loneliness crisis in the UK. Nine million adults in the country feel lonely always or often, and that this can be as bad for people as smoking up to fifteen cigarettes a day.
A humanist, geometric sans-serif, Insula is supplied in two versions. Insula Regular is designed for use as body text, whilst Insula Display is intended for large text and headings. This is to bring attention to three sensations that people have described loneliness to feel like; separate, invisible, and empty.
Enw ar deip yw Insula, sy’n golygu ‘ynys’ sydd wedi’i gynllunio i dynnu sylw at yr argyfwng unigrwydd cyfredol yn y DU. Mae naw miliwn o oedolion y DU yn teimlo’n unig bob amser neu’n aml, a gall hyn fod cyn waeled i bobl ag ysmygu hyd at bymtheg sigarét y dydd.
Mae dwy fersiwn o Insula ar gael, sy’n ffurfdeip ddyneiddiol, geometrig sans-serif. Mae Insula Regular wedi’i gynllunio i’w ddefnyddio fel corff testun, tra bod Insula Display i’w ddefnyddio ar gyfer testun bras a phenawdau. Mae hyn yn tynnu sylw at dri theimlad sy’n cyfleu unigryw i bobl; ar wahân, anweledig, a gwag.
