Annie Wilson

BA (Hons) Textiles

‘Made by Annie Kate’ is a design brand by Annie Wilson, a surface pattern designer and illustrator who specialises in digital work. Colourful and bold prints are key features incorporated within Annie’s work as she loves to create mood enhancing and eye catching designs. Annie’s core design process is digital; she also enjoys exploring hand crafted techniques that, when combined with digital print and pattern, result in interesting and unique designs.
Annie’s Final Major Project takes us across the globe to Japan where she has researched the culture, architecture, fashion and scenery to create vibrant and detailed patterns specifically for the stationary and fashion accessories market. ‘A Trip to Japan’ is a collection that incorporates digital illustration techniques to create intricate and layered patterns, inspired by the S/S 22 trend, ‘Euphoric’. The collection is intended to push the boundaries of good taste, while still appealing to the commercial market. The style of the collection is inspired by collaging and layering techniques which are used to bring depth and interest to digital patterns.
The collection features a wide range of motifs, from florals and fish to trains and temples; using these motifs 5 sub-collections have been created, each inspired by selected places in Japan. Whilst the sub collections all feature detailed patterns, they are all unique and focus on slightly different colour palettes to appeal to varying tastes.
‘A Trip to Japan’ aims to inspire those who observe the collection to travel; to explore new places, cultures and experiences.

Brand dylunio Annie Wilson yw ‘Made by Annie Kate’, sef dylunydd patrymau arwyneb a darlunydd sy’n arbenigo mewn gwaith digidol. Mae printiau lliwgar a beiddgar yn nodweddion allweddol yng ngwaith Annie, gan ei bod hi’n hoff o greu dyluniadau sy’n codi hwyliau pobl ac yn dal eu llygaid. Proses ddigidol yw proses ddylunio greiddiol Annie; mae hi hefyd yn hoff o archwilio technegau crefft llaw, ac wrth eu cyfuno â phrint digidol a phatrymau mae’n creu dyluniadau digidol ac unigryw.
Mae Prosiect Terfynol Annie yn mynd â ni ar draws y byd i Japan, ac mae hi wedi ymchwilio i’r diwylliant, y bensaernïaeth, y ffasiwn a’r golygfeydd i greu patrymau manwl a bywiog sy’n benodol ar gyfer y farchnad nwyddau ffasiwn ac offer swyddfa. Mae ‘A Trip to Japan’ yn gasgliad sy’n ymgorffori technegau darlunio digidol i greu patrymau haenog a chywrain, wedi’u hysbrydoli gan duedd ‘Ewfforig’ tymor gwanwyn/haf 22. Nod y casgliad yw gwthio ffiniau chwaeth dda, gan apelio ar yr un pryd at y farchnad fasnachol. Mae arddull y casgliad wedi’i hysbrydoli gan dechnegau clytwaith a haenau, a gaiff eu defnyddio i gynnwys dyfnder a diddordeb yn y patrymau digidol.
Mae’r casgliad yn cynnwys ystod eang o fotiffau, o flodau a physgod i drenau a themlau; drwy ddefnyddio’r motiffau yma, crëwyd 5 is-gasgliad, ac mae pob un wedi’u hysbrydoli gan lefydd penodol yn Japan. Er bod yr holl is-gasgliadau yn cynnwys patrymau manwl, mae pob un yn unigryw ac yn canolbwyntio ar balet lliw gwahanol er mwyn apelio i chwaeth amrywiol.
Mae ‘A Trip to Japan’ yn ceisio ysbrydoli’r bobl fydd yn gweld y casgliad i deithio; i archwilio llefydd, diwylliannau a phrofiadau newydd.
