Bethan Mason-Gough

BA (Hons) Illustration

Taking daily life as a subject matter, I am passionate about the observation of objects. I focus in on intricate details, with an interest in composition, tone, and texture.

The first project explores my love of horses and horse riding. This self-directed project led me to create a series of charcoal drawings that celebrate my own personal equestrian journey.

The second project responds to three Chris Carter thriller novels, ‘The Night Stalker’, ‘The Death Sculptor’ and ‘The Crucifix Killer.’ Focusing on the objects within the text brings a detective’s eye to the illustrations and presents the objects as evidence to be closely studied.

Gan gymryd bywyd bob dydd fel pwnc, rwy’n angerddol am arsylwi ar wrthrychau. Rwy’n canolbwyntio ar fanylion cymhleth, ac mae gen i ddiddordeb mewn cyfansoddiad, tôn a gwead.

Mae’r prosiect cyntaf yn archwilio fy nghariad at geffylau a marchogaeth. Arweiniodd y prosiect hunangyfeiriedig hwn at greu cyfres o luniau siarcol sy’n dathlu fy nhaith farchogol bersonol fy hun.

Mae’r ail brosiect yn ymateb i dair nofel wefreiddiol Chris Carter, ‘The Night Stalker’, ‘The Death Sculptor’ a ‘The Crucifix Killer.’ Mae canolbwyntio ar y gwrthrychau o fewn y testun yn dod â llygad ditectif i’r darluniau ac yn cyflwyno’r gwrthrychau fel tystiolaeth i’w hastudio’n ofalus.
