An Exploration of Geometric Forms

‘An Exploration of Geometric Forms’ begins its journey with a series of cylindrical vessels. Through a series of deconstruction and reconstruction I have explored the formal potentials of a simple thrown cylinder. Using cut lines to reveal and transform negative space and exterior form, while additions can create an intersect between planes and volumes.

The series has been informed by various influencing factors, these include: Architecture, Suprematism, Constructivism, Concrete Art and Formalism. These objects aim to convey the formal values of these influences, albeit in an accessible domestic scale.
The series is made up of wheel thrown, unglazed Ash White Stoneware.

Ymchwiliad i Ffurfiau Geometrig

Mae’r ‘Ymchwiliad i Ffurfiau Geometrig’ yn dechrau ar ei daith gyda chyfres o lestri silindraidd. Trwy gyfres o ddadadeiladu ac ailadeiladu rwyf wedi ymchwilio i botensialau ffurfiol silindr syml a deflir. Gan ddefnyddio llinellau toredig i ddatgelu a thrawsnewid gofod negyddol a ffurf allanol, tra y gall ychwanegiadau greu croestoriad rhwng planau a chyfeintiau.

Mae’r gyfres wedi’i chyfeirio gan amrywiaeth o ffactorau dylanwadol, mae’r rhain yn cynnwys: Pensaernïaeth, Swprematiaeth, Lluniadaeth, celf Concrit a Ffurfiolaeth. Mae’r gwrthrychau hyn yn ceisio cyfleu gwerthoedd ffurfiol y dylanwadau hyn, er ar raddfa ddomestig hygyrch.
Mae’r gyfres wedi’i chreu o Grochenwaith Gwyn Ynn di-wydredd a deflir ar olwyn.
