My interiors collection, titled Pamushana which translates from the Shona Language to ‘a place in the sun’, is inspired by the exotic nature of fauna and flora found in my home country Zimbabwe. It is bright and playful perfect for someone who wants to add an eccentric touch to their home.

The current maximalist trend resonated with the memories of growing up in a house hold full of eccentric prints reflecting the mood and colours of summers in Africa. The colour palette I have chosen is synonymous with the bright greens of the grass and crops on our farm, the deep blues and purples of a storm laden skies and the bright saturated reds and oranges of my grandmother’s English styled garden. My designs begin as paintings and drawings which are then digitally modified into a more stylized and graphic representation. I expand on my designs by using different motif elements, types of pattern repeats and combinations of complementing colours to create an overall cohesive collection.

Mae fy nghasgliad ar gyfer y tu mewn i adeiladau o’r enw Pamushana, sy’n cyfieithu o iaith Shona fel ‘lle yn yr haul’, wedi’i ysbrydoli gan natur egsotig y ffawna a fflora yn fy ngwlad frodorol, sef Simbabwe. Mae’n ddisglair ac yn chwareus ac yn berffaith ar gyfer rywun a fydd am ychwanegu cyffyrddiad ecsentrig at ei gartref.

Fe wnaeth y duedd facsimalaidd bresennol gyd-daro ag atgofion tyfu i fyny mewn cartref yn llawn o brintiau ecsentrig a oedd yn adlewyrchu naws a lliwiau haf yn Affrica. Mae’r palet lliwiau a ddewisais yn gyfystyr â gwyrdd llachar y gwair a’r cnydau ar ein fferm, y gleision dwfn a phorffor yr awyr yn drwm gan storom, a’r lliwiau oren a choch yn ddwys a llachar yng ngardd ‘Seisnig’ fy mamgu. Bydd fy nyluniadau’n dechrau ar ffurf paentiadau a darluniau a gaiff eu haddasu’n ddigidol i gael bod yn gynrychioliad mwy arddulliedig a graffig. Byddaf yn ehangu fy nyluniadau drwy ddefnyddio elfennau motiffau gwahanol, mathau o batrymau wedi’u hail-adrodd, a chyfuniadau o liwiau ategol i greu casgliad cydlynol iawn.
