As an illustrator my work combines themes that challenge social taboos around sex education and safe, healthy, relationships with the use of bold shapes and bright lines. Through exploring intimate subject matters I aim to challenge the unspoken of these topics and shine a new light on subjects that people do not always speak openly about. By using colourful imagery to depict the more intimate and nitty gritty side of life, I can try to show new perspectives of these sensitive issues. The drive I have to break down certain taboos comes from an interest and curiosity in people and how we engage with each other. Why are we secretive about certain subjects involving sex and relationships? Why cant these topics be openly discussed? By creating positive, fun, bright and bold images that portray the most intimate areas of life, I hope to bring these topics into the mainstream. I believe they shouldnt be secretive but a healthy, open part of our lives.

Fel darlunydd mae fy ngwaith i’n cyfuno themâu sy’n herio tabŵau cymdeithasol ynghylch addysg ryw a pherthnasoedd diogel ac iach gan ddefnyddio siapiau amlwg a llinellau lliwgar. Drwy archwilio pynciau personol rwy’n ceisio herio’r tawelwch am y pynciau hyn a thaflu goleuni newydd ar bynciau nad yw pobl yn siarad yn agored amdanyn nhw bob amser. Drwy ddefnyddio lluniau lliwgar i ddarlunio’r ochr fwy personol a phwysicaf mewn bywyd, rwy’n gallu ceisio dangos safbwyntiau newydd ar y materion sensitif hyn. Mae’r awydd i chwalu rhai tabŵau yn dod o ddiddordeb a chwilfrydedd mewn pobl a sut rydym yn ymwneud â’n gilydd. Pam ydyn ni’n dawedog am rai pynciau sy’n cynnwys rhyw a pherthnasoedd? Pam na all pobl drafod y pynciau hyn yn agored? Drwy greu lluniau cadarnhaol, hwyliog, llachar ac eglur sy’n portreadu’r rhannau mwyaf personol o fywyd, rwy’n gobeithio dod â’r pynciau hyn i’r brif ffrwd. Rwy’n credu na ddylid bod yn dawedog amdanyn nhw ac y dylen nhw fod yn rhan agored, iach o’n bywydau.
