It is my driving principle to focus on designing products for the small communities of people who require more focused user design than everyone else. These populations include those with physical or mental disabilities, who can be frustrated by the design affordances used in many products, or can’t find suitable, quality products to fit their needs. The current climate in the design industry focuses on the standardisation of day to day products to allow for mass manufacture. I intend to focus on designing diverse products for this market. Elements out of your control shouldn’t restrict your daily lifestyle or dictate your consumption habits. Overtime, I’ve grown closer to the people I’ve been designing for, gaining greater empathy of the situations they face, motivating me to expand my skillset to push my projects as far as I can. A range of 2D and 3D modelling techniques alongside numerous design selection process’ were used to develop my ideas to their full potential. My key strengths lie in my ability to present my ideas in a passionate yet professional manner and work in a compelling way, be that in a solo or group work environment. I utilise a variety of skill sets that come with working in a team, using it to expand my own skills and elevate the overall result. Every project presents a different challenge and that’s something I relish. Each one is a chance to further improve the various skills I’ve developed as a designer.

Fy egwyddor ganolog yw canolbwyntio ar ddylunio cynhyrchion ar gyfer cymunedau bach o bobl sydd angen dyluniadau sy’n canolbwyntio mwy ar ddefnyddwyr na neb arall. Maen nhw’n cynnwys pobl ag anableddau corfforol neu feddyliol, sydd efallai’n rhwystredig oherwydd y nodweddion dylunio a ddefnyddir mewn llawer o gynhyrchion, neu am na allant ddod o hyd i gynhyrchion addas o safon i gyd-fynd â’u hanghenion. Mae’r hinsawdd bresennol yn y diwydiant dylunio yn canolbwyntio ar safoni cynhyrchion bob dydd er mwyn caniatáu ar gyfer masgynhyrchu. Rwy’n bwriadu canolbwyntio ar ddylunio cynhyrchion amrywiol ar gyfer y farchnad hon. Ni ddylai elfennau y tu hwnt i’ch rheolaeth gyfyngu ar eich ffordd o fyw bob dydd na rheoli eich arferion. Dros amser, rwyf wedi tyfu’n agosach at y bobl y bues i’n dylunio ar eu cyfer, gan gydymdeimlo fwyfwy â’r sefyllfaoedd maen nhw’n eu hwynebu, gan fy ysgogi i ehangu fy set sgiliau i ddatblygu fy mhrosiectau hyd eithaf fy ngallu. Defnyddiwyd amrywiaeth o ddulliau modelu 2D a 3D ochr yn ochr â llawer o brosesau dylunio dethol i ddatblygu fy syniadau i’w llawn botensial. Mae fy nghryfderau allweddol yn cynnwys cyflwyno syniadau mewn modd angerddol ond proffesiynol a gweithio mewn ffordd gymhellol, boed hynny’n unigol neu mewn grŵp. Rwy’n defnyddio pob math o setiau sgiliau a ddaw o weithio mewn tîm, gan ddefnyddio hynny i ehangu fy sgiliau fy hun a gwella’r canlyniad cyffredinol. Mae pob prosiect yn cyflwyno her wahanol ac rwy’n hoff iawn o hynny. Mae pob un yn gyfle i fireinio’r sgiliau amrywiol rydw i wedi’u datblygu fel dylunydd.

Medical pack for schools and institutions with multiple first aiders. The pack organises and reduces the number of items within the first aid kit, reducing any confusion as to what the kit contains. The Bump Box can be mounted on a wall, with the LED lit first aid symbol to help clearly mark its location. The items within have all been clearly labelled to allow for quick, easy identification.

Pecyn meddygol ar gyfer ysgolion a sefydliadau sydd â sawl swyddog cymorth cyntaf. Mae’r pecyn yn trefnu ac yn lleihau nifer yr eitemau yn y pecyn cymorth cyntaf, gan leihau unrhyw ddryswch ynghylch yr hyn y mae’r pecyn yn ei gynnwys. Gellir gosod y Bump Box ar wal, gyda’r symbol cymorth cyntaf wedi’i oleuo gan olau LED i helpu i nodi ei leoliad yn glir. Mae’r eitemau i gyd wedi’u labelu’n glir er mwyn eu hadnabod yn gyflym ac yn hawdd.

With the growing popularity o para-sports and leagues, such as the Physically Disabled Rugby League, there is a distinct lack of relevant safety equipment. The Sheath is a protective cover for a lower limb prosthetic leg, for use in full contact sport. The intention being to protect other players on the pitch from injury against the prosthetic, using impact reducing foam to cover the hard projections.

Gyda phoblogrwydd cynyddol chwaraeon a chynghreiriau i bobl anabl, fel Rygbi’r Gynghrair i Bobl Anabl, mae yna ddiffyg amlwg o ran offer diogelwch perthnasol. Mae’r Sheath yn orchudd amddiffynnol ar gyfer rhan isaf coes brosthetig, i’w ddefnyddio mewn chwaraeon cyswllt llawn. Y bwriad yw amddiffyn chwaraewyr eraill ar y cae rhag cael eu hanafu gan y goes brosthetig, gan ddefnyddio ffôm lleihau effaith i orchuddio rhannau caled y goes.

Cerebra are a national charity dedicated to helping children with brain conditions and their families through research and innovation. Through a live project, we designed and developed a trolley that helps young children carry their own oxygen tank, ventilator and food pump. The product aims to encourage the child’s independence. Enabling them to explore and learn without constant need for adult help.

Mae Cerebra yn elusen genedlaethol sydd wedi ymrwymo i helpu plant â chyflyrau’r ymennydd a’u teuluoedd trwy waith ymchwil ac arloesi. Trwy brosiect byw, gwnaethom ddylunio a datblygu troli sy’n helpu plant ifanc i gario eu tanc ocsigen, peiriant anadlu a phwmp bwyd. Nod y cynnyrch yw hyrwyddo annibyniaeth y plentyn, a’u galluogi i archwilio a dysgu heb angen cyson am gymorth oedolion.
