Throughout my further studies I have always believed that having patience is vital to the productivity for my work. My recent project draws focus to one of the ongoing issues in today’s society, adoption. In 2006, The animal welfare act implemented five rules in order to sustain the health and wellbeing of an animal. My project creates a concept from these rules in an emotional yet fun way that allows young children to understand the responsibility of adopting a dog without being told the finer details of a daunting issue.
The majority of my work is made up with materials such as inks and paints that I use a lot within my subject of practice, Illustration. One of the photos displayed here represents part of the book from my most recent project, ‘A lost little Patch’. It displays two young dogs that have been left amongst some general waste, crying for help. The images within this book tell the story of a young dog named Patch that had been found and brought to a shelter in hope to finding a new owner who would provide the proper care for her. The colour palette used within my project is inspired by two book collections in particular, one of those being the Spot books by Eric Hill and the other by Dick Bruna, who illustrated the Miffy book collection. These books are created in a similar style to my work and also teach the important issues to young children throughout the concept of illustration.
Trwy fy astudiaethau pellach rwyf bob amser wedi credu bod cael amynedd yn hanfodol i gynhyrchedd ar gyfer fy ngwaith. Mae fy mhrosiect diweddar yn tynnu sylw at un o faterion parhaus y gymdeithas fodern, mabwysiadu. Yn 2006, gweithredoedd y ddeddf lles anifeiliaid bum rheol i gynnal iechyd a llesiant anifail. Mae fy mhrosiect yn creu cysyniad o’r rheolau hyn mewn ffordd emosiynol ond difyr sy’n galluogi plant ifanc i ddeall cyfrifoldeb berchen ar gi heb glywed manylder mater sy’n heriol.
Crëir y rhan fwyaf o fy ngwaith gyda deunyddiau megis inciau a phaentiau yr wyf yn eu defnyddio llawer o fewn fy mhwnc ymarfer, Darlunio. Mae un o’r lluniau a ddangosir yma’n cynrychioli rhan o’r llyfr a gollwyd o fy mhrosiect diweddaraf, ‘A lost little Patch’. Mae’n dangos dau gi ifanc sydd wedi’u gadael yng nghanol rhai gwastraff cyffredinol, yn crïo am gymorth. Mae’r delweddau yn y llyfr hwn yn adrodd stori ci ifanc o’r enw Patch y daethpwyd o hyd iddi ac y daethpwyd â hi i loches yn y gobaith o ddod o hyd i berchennog newydd ar ei chyfer a fyddai’n gofalu’n iawn amdani. Ysbrydolir y palet lliwiau o fewn fy mhrosiect gan ddau gasgliad llyfrau’n benodol, un ohonynt yw’r llyfrau Spot gan Eric Hill a’r llall gan Dick Bruna, a ddarluniodd y casgliad llyfrau Miffy. Crëir y llyfrau hyn mewn arddull debyg i fy ngwaith ac maent hefyd yn addysgu plant ifanc am faterion pwysig trwy gydol y cysyniad darlunio.
