I am an activist illustrator who is strongly influenced by climate change and the effect it has on animals. Through a series of illustrations, I aim to create an immersive experience that is emotionally responsive and thought triggering for animals that are mistreated and effected by natural disasters caused by climate change. Themes of animal cruelty, sadness and serenity are key between each series of illustrations that have been inspired by Animal Liberation by Kate Powell who addresses animal activism and responds to devastating events that happen at Sea World. This series of illustrations focus on three different subjects that all focus around harm to animals and climate change: Australian bush fires, ocean pollution and lastly animal cruelty. An exploration of trans-disciplinary themes informs my research and decision making, underlining the basis of my visual language.

Rwy’n ddarlunydd/ymgyrchydd ac yn cael fy nylanwadu’n gryf gan newid yn yr hinsawdd a’i effaith ar anifeiliaid. Drwy gyfres o ddarluniau, rwy’n ceisio creu profiad o ymgolli sy’n ymatebol yn emosiynol ac yn ysgogi’r meddwl i anifeiliaid sy’n cael eu cam-drin a’u heffeithio gan drychinebau naturiol a achosir gan newid yn yr hinsawdd. Mae themâu creulondeb anifeiliaid, tristwch a thangnefedd yn allweddol rhwng pob cyfres o ddarluniau sydd wedi’u hysbrydoli gan Animal Liberation gan Kate Powell sy’n mynd i’r afael ag ymgyrchu ym maes anifeiliaid ac yn ymateb i ddigwyddiadau dinistriol sy’n digwydd yn Sea World. Mae’r gyfres hon o ddarluniau’n canolbwyntio ar dri phwnc gwahanol sy’n canolbwyntio ar niwed i anifeiliaid a newid yn yr hinsawdd: tanau yn niffeithdir Awstralia, llygredd y cefnforoedd a chreulondeb i anifeiliaid. Mae archwiliad o themâu trawsddisgyblaethol yn llywio fy ymchwil a’m penderfyniadau, gan bwysleisio sail fy iaith weledol.
