BSc (Hons) Product Design

Jack Thomas Hardacre

As a born and bred Welshman Ive come to discover that through my 3 years of academic learning and designing I’m a deconstructivist at my core and as such, I like to explore the beauty of asymmetry and chaos in design which in turn allows me to come up with new interesting and innovative ideas. But unlike my previous self 3 years ago I have come to also appreciate the sustainable and more biophilic side of design. Since attending Cardiff Metropolitan University I have come to notice my flare for designing in huge bursts of creativity and effort over a long period of time, this has shown me that thanks to the three years of education Ive come to live and breathe design at a much greater level giving me a much greater in-depth insight over the industry and its various commercial applications. I hope that with further time, effort and work Ill be able to refine my skills and succeed in growing to be a truly great product designer in the near future

Fel Cymro brodorol rwyf wedi dod i ddarganfod trwy fy 3 blynedd o ddysgu a dylunio academaidd fy mod yn ddadadeiladydd wrth fy ngwraidd ac felly, rwy’n hoffi ymchwilio i brydferthwch anghymesuredd ac anhrefn mewn dylunio sydd yn ei dro’n caniatáu i mi ddyfeisio syniadau diddorol ac arloesol newydd. Ond yn wahanol i fy hun blaenorol 3 blynedd yn ôl rwyf hefyd wedi dod i werthfawrogi ochr gynaliadwy a mwy bioffilig dylunio. Ers dod i Brifysgol Metropolitan Caerdydd rwyf wedi dod i sylwi ar fy nawn wrth ddylunio mewn pyliau enfawr o greadigrwydd ac ymdrech dros gyfnod amser hir, mae hyn wedi dangos i mi fy mod, diolch i’r tair blynedd o addysg, wedi dod i fyw ac anadlu dylunio ar lefel lawer dyfnach gan roi mewn mewnwelediad ehangach o lawer i mi dros y diwydiant a’i gymwysiadau masnachol amrywiol. Dros amser a gydag ymdrech a gwaith pellach, rwy’n gobeithio y byddaf yn gallu mireinio fy sgiliau a llwyddo wrth dyfu i fod yn ddylunydd cynnyrch gwirioneddol fawr yn y dyfodol agos.
