BA (Hons) Product Design

Designers shape the world in which we live, and for that reason my philosophy has remained the same; products should always be socially responsible and environmentally orientated. With a critical and conscientious approach to design, I can bring a product to life with my prime skillsets in conceptual sketch rendering and CAD modeling. My passion and expertise in professional photography has allowed me to realise my natural flair for composing the clear demonstration and beauty of any product.

Combining my experience in solving real-life problems provided by industry, as well as the award-winning products I have design thus far, makes me confident in my abilities to work in a professional team as I approach industry.

Mae dylunwyr yn siapio’r byd rydym yn byw ynddo, ac am y rheswm honno mae fy athroniaeth wedi aros yr un peth; dylai cynnyrch bob amser fod yn gyfrifol yn gymdeithasol a chan roi sylw i’r amgylchedd. Gyda fy ymagwedd feirniadol a chydwybodol at ddylunio, gallaf ddod â chynnyrch yn fyw gyda fy setiau sgiliau rendro brasluniau cysyniadol a modelu CAT. Mae fy angerdd ac arbenigedd mewn ffotograffiaeth broffesiynol wedi fy ngalluogi i wireddu fy nawn naturiol o gyfansoddiad ymddangosiad a phrydferthwch clir unrhyw gynnyrch.

Gan gyfuno fy mhrofiad wrth ddatrys problemau’r byd go iawn a ddarperir gan ddiwydiant, yn ogystal â’r cynnyrch uchel ei glod yr wyf wedi’i ddylunio hyd yma, rwy’n hyderus yn fy ngalluoedd i weithio mewn tîm proffesiynol wrth i mi anelu at diwydiant.

Winning the W2W Furniture Design Competition is my proudest design achievement. Me and my partner came first place over a range of colleges across Ireland and Wales. The brief was to design furniture that fits within the circular economy model and improves natural human interacts within the workspace. Our design ‘Co-Lab’, embodies what it means to work collaboratively, with adjustable walls that can be open or closed to suit the user’s needs.

Ennill Cystadleuaeth Ddylunio Dodrefn W2W yw fy nghyflawniad dylunio balchaf. Cafodd fy mhartner a minnau’r wobr gyntaf ymhlith amrywiaeth o golegau ledled Iwerddon a Chymru. Y brîff oedd dylunio dodrefn sy’n addas ar gyfer y model economi gylchol ac sy’n gwella rhyngweithio naturiol rhwng pobl o fewn y gweithle. Mae ein dyluniad ‘Co-Lab’, yn ymgorffori’r hyn y mae’n ei olygu i gydweithredu, gyda waliau addasadwy sy’n gallu bod yn agored neu ar gau, yn ôl anghenion y defnyddiwr.

Design Affordances was a favourite of mine. Me and my graphic design partner were tasked with developing a speaker design that reflects the design style of the app that works alongside it. The speaker and app must have clear design affordances and be incredibly user friendly. Our final design incorporates an LED ring which can be controlled via the app to create a personalised light show experience.

Roedd Nodweddion Dylunio yn un o’m ffefrynnau. Cefais i a fy mhartner dylunio graffeg y dasg o ddatblygu dyluniad seinydd sy’n adlewyrchu arddull ddylunio’r ap sy’n gweithio gyda’r seinydd. Rhaid i’r seinydd a’r ap fod â nodweddion dylunio clir ac yn hawdd iawn i’w defnyddio. Mae ein dyluniad terfynol yn ymgorffori cylch LED y gellir ei reoli trwy’r ap i greu profiad sioe oleuadau wedi’i bersonoli.

Me and my team developed our initial winning concept after coming first place in the 24-hour design challenge set by PDR. The brief was to design a piece of cycling equipment that is built for users with the drop foot condition to help them maintain an active lifestyle. We developed a portable, breathable device that incorporates a gyroscope and an accelerometer that stimulates the user’s leg muscle while they cycle.

Datblygwyd ein cysyniad buddugol cychwynnol gennyf i a’m tîm ar ôl ennill y wobr gyntaf yn yr her ddylunio 24 awr a osodwyd gan PDR. Y brîff oedd dylunio darn o offer beicio wedi’i adeiladu ar gyfer defnyddwyr sydd â chyflwr troed lipa, i’w helpu i gynnal ffordd o fyw egnïol. Datblygom ddyfais gludadwy, anadladwy sy’n cynnwys gyrosgop a mesurydd cyflymu sy’n ysgogi cyhyrau yng nghoes y defnyddiwr wrth iddynt feicio.

Paint Pail, a quick fix for all painter’s needs. My major project brief was to design and make an ambidextrous clamp design that incorporates an attachment for a paint pail. My design sets itself apart from other products on the market due to its greater level of adaptability to attach itself to almost any ladder or stepladder, with removeable clamp pads to ensure the design can accommodate different ladder widths.

Paint Pail, sef datrysiad cyflym ar gyfer holl anghenion peintwyr. Briff fy mhrosiect mawr oedd dylunio a chreu clamp y gellir ei ddefnyddio â’r llaw dde neu’r llaw chwith, sy’n cynnwys atodyn ar gyfer dal bwced paent. Mae fy nyluniad yn wahanol i gynhyrchion eraill ar y farchnad oherwydd ei lefel uwch o hyblygrwydd i’w osod ar bron unrhyw ysgol neu risiau, gyda phadiau clamp y gellir eu tynnu i sicrhau y gall y dyluniad ddarparu ar gyfer ysgolion o led gwahanol.
