BA (Hons) Product Design

In practice, I come up with a visual template, then make needed adjustments to the work with the required mechanics of the product and/or the clients requests. I am inspired by wanting to improve things I observe, enjoying the way things fit together then using a practical approach to design problems. Using different materials for tactile qualities and using colours for the correct impact.

I have a clear understanding of how multiple different types of modelling software work. Utilising this knowledge, I assess the pros and cons of that each modelling package offers. This knowledge is a critical part of my final designing methods. I then produced a 3D model, this then assists me with making any needed adjustments.

I won a competition set by the medical company Watson and Marlow. I provided a medical design that was so successful I won a 3D printer. This has given me more confidence to progress and continue towards my chosen career.

I have used this 3D printer to start my own company and have successfully sold many items that I have produced.

Yn fy ngwaith ymarfer, bydd templed gweledol gen i cyn gwneud yr addasiadau angenrheidiol i’r gwaith â mecaneg ofynnol y cynnyrch a/neu ddymuniadau’r cleientiaid. Mae bod ag awydd i wella’r pethau y byddaf yn sylwi arnyn nhw, mwynhau’r ffordd y bydd pethau’n ffitio gyda’i gilydd ac yna defnyddio agwedd ymarferol tuag at broblemau dylunio, yn fy ysbrydoli. Defnyddio deunyddiau gwahanol ar gyfer nodweddion cyffyrddol a defnyddio lliwiau ar gyfer yr effaith gywir.

Mae dealltwriaeth glir gen i ynglŷn â sut bydd nifer o fathau gwahanol o feddalwedd modelu yn gweithio. Gan ddefnyddio’r wybodaeth hon, byddaf yn asesu’r pethau o blaid ac yn erbyn y bydd pob pecyn modelu yn eu cynnig. Mae’r wybodaeth hon yn rhan hollbwysig o’m dull dylunio terfynol. Yna byddaf yn cynhyrchu model 3D a fydd yn fy nghynorthwyo wrth wneud unrhyw addasiadau angenrheidiol.

Enillais gystadleuaeth a osodwyd gan Watson a Marlow, y cwmni meddygol. Fe wnes i gyflwyno dyluniad meddygol oedd mor llwyddiannus nes i mi ennill argraffydd 3D. Mae hyn wedi rhoi mwy o hyder i fi gynyddu a pharhau i symud tuag at fy newis yrfa.

Rwyf wedi defnyddio’r argraffydd 3D yma i ddechrau fy nghwmni fy hun ac rwyf wedi gwerthu llawer o’r eitemau rwyf wedi’u cynhyrchu.
