This project explores social mobility in contemporary England. Investigating the link between geographical location and levels of social mobility achievable by the people in those areas. Some of the factors influencing social mobility include standard of education opportunities, number of employers in an area and the standard of transport links in, and around a region. This project aims to raise the awareness of the stark divide in opportunities throughout England as well as highlighting the fact that where you originate from shouldn’t determine your success in life.

Mae’r prosiect hwn yn archwilio symudedd cymdeithasol mewn Lloegr fodern. Mae’n ymchwilio i’r cyswllt rhwng lleoliad daearyddol a lefelau symudedd cymdeithasol y gellir eu cyflawni gan bobl yn y meysydd hynny. Mae rhai o’r ffactorau sy’n dylanwadu ar symudedd cymdeithasol yn cynnwys safon cyfleoedd addysgol, nifer y cyflogwyr a geir mewn ardal a safon cysylltiadau trafnidiaeth mewn rhanbarth ac o’i amgylch. Nod y prosiect hwn yw codi ymwybyddiaeth o’r gwahaniaeth amlwg mewn cyfleoedd ledled Lloegr, yn ogystal ag amlygu’r ffaith na ddylai’r lle rydych yn hanu ohono benderfynu ar y llwyddiant a gewch mewn bywyd.
