I am a Polish textile artist with a passion for hand and free-machine embroidery, 3D maquettes and period accurate fashion. Historical garments are a big inspiration for me and finding sources and stories behind them fuel my passion for textiles further.
My projects in the past have been inspired by period accurate fashion and historical events. I use photographs transferred onto fabric and free-machine embroidery to patchwork samples onto garments inspired by a specific time periods or historical event so that the garment or maquette can tell a story.
This project, ‘Anything Goes in the 30’s’ is inspired and based on the hit Broadway musical ‘Anything Goes’ from the 1930’s.
The musical follows the main character, Reno Sweeney, an evangelist turned bar hostess on board of a Europe-bound liner to dissuade her crush Billy Porter from pursuing Hope Harcourt, who is engaged to another man, however Reno ends up helping Billy pursue Hope instead.
