Simple Complexity

Bringing together the latest technology and traditional craft by merging 3D printing with ceramics. This work will begin to form the identity of my design brand, showing a collaborative approach that brings together design disciplines and craft creating a more open and pliable design studio focussed around material exploration and making. Starting with a series of fully realised vessels, my work aims to create extraordinary objects through the use of additive manufacturing. Alongside which the application of ceramic pieces introduces elegance and familiarity to the vessels, by digitally creating complex forms that can only be effectively made using 3D printing technology. These forms are inspired by fractal geometry such as the Mandelbrot set which is said to be the most complex geometrical form ever made. In addition I will be designing a range of applications ranging from architectural proposals to various homeware and interiors as well as j ewellery, inspired by complex fractal forms, Showing a diverse collection of work that I plan to design, make and sell in the near future.
