BSc (Hons) Product Design

As a designer, I believe that I must be fully immersive with a design challenge to fulfil the needs of my brief. My ethos strives for ethical and engaging design solutions that suit my passion of education and developing knowledge. With an invested goal of being able to pass on what I have learnt and what I know, I aim for the design solutions I present to be informative and encourage others to develop their skills.

I apply a methodological thought process throughout the early stages of the design process, this assists with the development of a product technically designed in preparation for manufacturing. I understand where knowledge can be found and how sources can be analysed throughout a iterative design, to develop an interest in sourcing information that influences design solutions.

My professional presentation within the projects I have worked on has given me a varied portfolio while working with clients, that tackle real life issues and presents design solutions. By using the information, I have been able to develop my work in line with industry-based skillsets and design goals. Throughout the use of internal and external sources I follow an iterative process to assist a continued development of the work I aim to complete and present within my portfolio.

Fel dylunydd, credaf fod rhaid i mi ymgolli’n llwyr yn yr her ddylunio er mwyn diwallu anghenion fy mriff. Fel rhan o’m hethos, rwy’n ymroi i ganfod atebion dylunio moesegol ac atyniadol sy’n gweddu i’m hangerdd dros ddysgu a datblygu gwybodaeth. Gyda’r nod o drosglwyddo’r hyn rwyf wedi’i ddysgu ac yn ei wybod, hoffwn i’r atebion dylunio rwy’n eu cyflwyno fod yn addysgiadol ac annog eraill i feithrin eu sgiliau.
Rwy’n defnyddio proses fethodolegol gydol camau cynnar y broses ddylunio, sy’n helpu i ddatblygu cynnyrch a gynlluniwyd yn dechnegol wrth baratoi ar gyfer gweithgynhyrchu. Rwy’n deall lle gellir dod o hyd i wybodaeth a sut gellir dadansoddi ffynonellau trwy gydol proses ddylunio iterus, er mwyn datblygu diddordeb mewn dod o hyd i wybodaeth sy’n dylanwadu ar atebion dylunio.

Mae fy nghyflwyniad proffesiynol o fewn y prosiectau y bues i’n gweithio arnyn nhw wedi creu portffolio amrywiol i mi wrth weithio gyda chleientiaid, sy’n mynd i’r afael â materion bywyd go iawn ac yn cyflwyno atebion dylunio. Trwy ddefnyddio’r wybodaeth hon, llwyddais i ddatblygu fy ngwaith yn unol â set sgiliau a nodau dylunio’r diwydiant. Gydol y defnydd o ffynonellau mewnol ac allanol, rwy’n dilyn proses iterus er mwyn helpu gyda datblygiad parhaus y gwaith rwy’n ceisio ei gwblhau a’i gyflwyno yn fy mhortffolio.

An exploded view of the design solution for my BSc module showing how layering varied composites can be used to build up and achieve a fully working model, using naturally sourced materials.

Golwg daenedig o’r ateb dylunio ar gyfer fy modiwl BSc yn dangos sut gellir defnyddio haenu cyfansoddion amrywiol i adeiladu a chyflawni model cwbl weithredol, gan ddefnyddio deunyddiau o ffynonellau naturiol.

Working to create a fully working prototype for my BSc module, creating ethically sourced and 100% biodegradable sanitary towels.

Gweithio i greu prototeip cwbl weithredol ar gyfer fy modiwl BSc, yn creu tyweli mislif 100% bioddiraddiadwy o darddiad moesegol.

Explaining how different materials can be used and positioned within the design to create the final effect for a 24-hour design project where a wrist splint was developed and created as a part of a team.

Egluro sut gellir defnyddio deunyddiau gwahanol a’u gosod o fewn y dyluniad i greu’r effaith derfynol ar gyfer prosiect dylunio 24 awr lle cafodd sblint arddwrn ei ddatblygu a’i greu fel rhan o dîm.

Creating an inclusive learning aid for school children aged 11 to 16, to engage children by learning through play within design and technology lessons helping them to become more involved with their decision making and problem solving processes.

ddysgu drwy chwarae mewn gwersi dylunio a thechnoleg, gan eu helpu i ddod yn fwy cysylltiedig â’u prosesau penderfynu a datrys problemau.
