Olivia Steward

BA (Hons) Illustration

Olivia Steward is an illustrator who focuses on everyday life. She is often influenced by the world around her and the people within it. She uses her skills of observation, memory, and imagination to create her illustrations. Her work consists of drawing through these forms, as well as using a variety of printmaking techniques. She often develops her drawings into print to bring her illustrations to life. Her use of foam printing is an important technique as it creates subtleties and texturised illustrations.

Olivia’s current project represents her interests in the everyday, with a focus on the new way of life we have recently all adapted to. She has created a body of work which has been directly influenced by the activities, normalities, and behaviours during these times. She uses her skills of drawing and printmaking to illustrate aspects of the everyday. The focus on this new way of life is highly important, as it creates relatability for many people and will allow future generations to understand how we lived during this time.

Darlunydd sy’n canolbwyntio ar fywyd bob dydd yw Olivia Steward. Mae’n cael ei dylanwadu’n aml gan y byd o’i chwmpas a’r bobl sydd ynddo. Mae’n defnyddio ei sgiliau arsylwi, cofio a’i dychymyg i greu ei darluniau. Mae ei gwaith yn cynnwys darlunio drwy’r ffurfiau yma, yn ogystal â defnyddio amrywiaeth o dechnegau gwneud printiau. Mae hi’n aml yn troi ei darluniau’n brintiau er mwyn dod â nhw’n fyw. Mae ei defnydd o bapur sbwng i greu printiau yn dechneg bwysig iddi gan ei fod yn creu darluniau cynnil a gweadog.

Mae prosiect diweddaraf Olivia yn cynrychioli ei diddordebau mewn pethau pob dydd, ac yn canolbwyntio ar y ffordd newydd o fyw rydyn ni i gyd wedi addasu iddi yn ddiweddar. Mae hi wedi creu corff o waith sydd wedi cael ei ddylanwadu’n uniongyrchol gan weithgarwch, normalrwydd ac ymddygiad yn ystod y cyfnod yma. Mae hi’n defnyddio ei sgiliau darlunio a chreu printiau i ddarlunio agweddau ar fywyd pob dydd. Mae canolbwyntio ar y ffordd newydd yma o fyw yn bwysig iawn, gan fod pobl yn gallu uniaethu â hynny a bydd yn caniatáu i genedlaethau’r dyfodol ddeall sut roedden ni’n byw yn ystod y cyfnod yma.
