Within today’s society, we have become so conditioned and blind sighted by the truth. I explore the devastating effects our simple food choices has upon the environment and our health. My work will make people more curious and question the food industries and everything that they have led us to believe. Animal agriculture is the leading cause of deforestation, water consumption and pollution, it is responsible for more greenhouse gases than the transportation industry, and it’s a primary driver to rain forest destruction, species extinction, habitat loss, topsoil erosion, ocean dean zones and virtually every other environmental ill. Yet it still goes on, almost entirely unchallenged. If I can shape one person’s way of thinking through my art that will be my job done.

I have chosen to focus my energies into etching as my main medium because it has the most wonderful varied techniques within it. I enjoy the technical side of this way of working the rigour of the process and attention to detail. At etchings core is a traditional drawing element, which allows the prints to have a detailed quality to them. I have most certainly surprised myself with how increasingly this appeals to me, as it has allowed my drawing to become more confident.

Yn y gymdeithas sydd ohoni heddiw, rydyn ni wedi’n cyflyru cymaint a fy nallu gan y gwirionedd. Rydw i’n ystyried effeithiau dinistriol ein dewis o fwyd syml ar yr amgylchedd ac ar ein hiechyd. Bydd fy ngwaith yn ennyn chwilfrydedd pobl fel eu bod yn cwestiynu’r diwydiannau bwyd a phopeth maen nhw wedi ein harwain i gredu. Amaethu anifeiliaid yw prif achos datgoedwigo, y defnydd o ddŵr a llygredd. Mae’n gyfrifol am fwy o nwyon tŷ gwydr na’r diwydiant cludiant, ac achos sylfaenol dinistrio fforestydd glaw, difodiant rhywogaethau, colli cynefin, erydu uwchbridd, parthau marw moroedd a bron pob aflwydd amgylcheddol arall. Ac eto mae’n dal i ddigwydd yn ddiwrthwynebiad. Os galla i newid ffordd o feddwl unigolyn drwy fy nghelf , yna bydd a i wedi gwneud fy gwaith.

Rydw i wedi dewis ffocysu fy egni ar ysgythru fel fy mhrif gyfrwng oherwydd ei fod yn cynnwys technegau amrywiol rhyfeddol. Rydw i’n mwynhau ochr dechnegol y dull hwn o weithio, manwl gywirdeb y broses a’r sylw a roddir i fanylder. Yn greiddiol i ysgythru mae’r elfen lluniadu traddodiadol sy’n golygu bod rhinweddau manwl i’r printiadau. Rydw i wedi synnu fy hun bod hyn yn apelio fwyfwy ata i gan ei fod wedi caniatáu i mi luniadu’n fwy hyderus.

My artwork was initially inspired by the rave scene which is usually an intense environment of music, colour and lights. I decided to recreate the feelings that my experience evoked, with the use of illuminative acrylics and spray paints on canvas. As spray painting...

Our species has become increasingly disconnected from nature. I focus on landscapes of personal significance and/or landscapes that have been disrupted by industrial use. Materials from these sites (often rocks, muds, and bricks) are used through a process-orientated...

Non-linear narratives such as unreliable memories, leaky dreams and deja vu are a central reference within my practice. I address the structure of these forms of narrative using repetition, replication and iterations of time. My work is largely sculptural, using...

Exploring the fragmentation of memory through the physicality of found objects and the spoken word, my work has become an archive of my family history. Due to the archival nature of my work, I replicate ways of preserving my objects through the attentiveness of their...

In my current practice I am concerned with the objectivity and phenomenology of colour. Through using media such as light and coloured acetate, my present work is intentionally focused and uncluttered, allowing colour to be considered as a singularity without any...

With a love for colour my work addresses form and shape and the impact this has on a space. I am demonstrating how the use of bright colour can create maximum optical impact. I’m interested in pattern and repetition to create a visual aesthetic whilst whilst working...
