BA (Hons) Textiles

Art is something that is interpreted at an individuals discretion and, in my opinion, textiles is a creative and innovative way of demonstrating individuality and personality.

My work is influenced by natural forms and being able to translate those forms into different styles that have been inspired by Asian and middle-eastern cultures. Textiles is a way of incorporating my artwork and creating an environment where people are able to feel their best and where they are able to disconnect and unwind from the worlds strains and stresses. Interior textiles are responsible for creating the environment you feel comfortable in, whether that is a busy or calm one, and its the textiles and pattern that make a difference.

Creating sustainable textiles is something that I aspire to produce, and finding patterns and themes that people find represent their true selves makes them less likely to want to change the environment they feel comfortable in.

Mae celfyddyd yn rhywbeth a ddehonglir yn ôl disgresiwn yr unigolyn ac, yn fy marn i, mae tecstilau’n ddull creadigol ac arloesol o ddangos naws unigol a phersonoliaeth.

Dylanwadir ar fy ngwaith gan ffurfiau naturiol a medru trosi’r ffurfiau hynny i arddulliau gwahanol sydd wedi’u hysbrydoli gan ddiwylliannau Asiaidd a’r dwyrain canol. Mae tecstilau’n ddull o gorffori fy ngwaith celf a chreu amgylchedd lle gall pobl deimlo ar eu gorau ac y gallant datgysylltu a dadflino o straenau a phwysau’r byd. Mae tecstilau mewnol yn gyfrifol am greu’r amgylchedd y teimlwch yn gyfforddus ynddo, ni waeth p’un a yw hynny’n brysur neu lonydd, a’r tecstilau a phatrymau yw’r hyn sy’n gwneud y gwahaniaeth.

Creu tecstilau cynaliadwy yw rhywbeth yr wyf yn dyheu am eu cynhyrchu, ac mae dod o hyd i batrymau a themâu sy’n cynrychioli pobl yn eu gwir hunaniaeth yn peri iddynt fod yn llai tebygol o eisiau newid yr amgylchedd y maent yn teimlo’n gyfforddus ynddo.
