BA (Hons) Illustration

My illustration work is inspired by and created in response to the natural world. Focusing on the animals that inhabit the world I aim to showcase them in a way that is both enticing and progressive in encouraging people to be more involved with the natural world and think about the ways in which we can help it thrive. Ultimately, I want to give something back to the natural world because it has given me so much within my personal and creative life.

My current project has been self-driven, like a passion project. I have been researching into local wildlife reserves and focusing on illustrating the creatures that inhabit them. Wanting to create an educational element within my work, I have been illustrating not only the animals themselves but also facts relating to food items that they eat. This work has helped me find more of a focal point within my illustrations, allowing me to focus on a specific set of animals that are local to me and using my creativity to help spread awareness of ways in which the everyday person can help or be more educated about the animals.
I am sharing these informational illustrations with the hope of spreading awareness about the natural world that means so much to me.

Mae fy ngwaith darlunio wedi’i ysbrydoli a’i greu mewn ymateb i’r byd naturiol. Drwy ganolbwyntio ar yr anifeiliaid sy’n byw yn y byd, rwy’n ceisio eu harddangos mewn ffordd sy’n ddeniadol ac yn flaengar wrth annog pobl i chwarae mwy o ran mewn byd natur a meddwl am y ffyrdd y gallwn ei helpu i ffynnu. Yn y pen draw, rydw i am roi rhywbeth yn ôl i fyd natur oherwydd ei fod wedi cynnig cymaint i fi yn fy mywyd personol a chreadigol.

Mae fy mhrosiect diweddaraf wedi bod yn un hunan-ysgogol, yn brosiect angerdd. Rydw i wedi bod yn ymchwilio i warchodfeydd bywyd gwyllt lleol ac yn canolbwyntio ar ddarlunio’r creaduriaid sy’n byw ynddyn nhw. Gan fy mod am gynnig elfen addysgiadol yn fy ngwaith, rydw i wedi bod yn darlunio, nid yn unig yr anifeiliaid, ond hefyd ffeithiau’n ymwneud â bwydydd maen nhw’n eu bwyta. Mae’r gwaith yma wedi fy helpu i ddod o hyd i ganolbwynt yn fy narluniau, ac wedi caniatáu i fi ganolbwyntio ar gyfres benodol o anifeiliaid sy’n lleol i fi, a defnyddio fy nghreadigrwydd i ledaenu ymwybyddiaeth o ffyrdd y gallwn ni helpu neu ddysgu rhagor am yr anifeiliaid.
Rwy’n rhannu’r darluniau a’r wybodaeth yma yn y gobaith y galla i ledaenu ymwybyddiaeth am fyd natur – sy’n golygu cymaint i fi.
