Chris Evans aka Queerbis

BA (Hons) Illustration

Queerbis is an Activist Illustrator who wants to change the world, while having some fun doing it. Their new design movement titled ‘Bis Design’ recognises society’s biased construction, and as a result gives the ‘power of bias’ back to anyone who is disadvantaged or oppressed by the world around us that otherwise is excused as ‘normality’. Pioneering Bis Design as a design process, giving anyone the power to create their own technologies to instantly cure the unique issues we all face in society. Queerbis wants to challenge normality with their own expression of Bis Design, showcasing a variety of their own sculptural technologies that address issues they have faced as a queer person growing up in Wales. The devices act as their own catalysts for facilitating a conversation about how we all live our lives and the labyrinth we explore, giving an intimate insight into the lives and experiences of people all around us in a more unique, interactive way. Promoting empathy and education while asking people to look at the world around us in a new way. Designing the world we didn’t know we needed.

Mae Queerbis yn Ddarlunydd ac Ymgyrchydd sydd am newid y byd, gan gael tipyn o hwyl wrth wneud hynny. Mae ei fudiad dylunio newydd o’r enw ‘Bis Design’ yn cydnabod adeiladwaith rhagfarnllyd cymdeithas, ac o ganlyniad mae’n rhoi ‘pŵer rhagfarn’ yn ôl i unrhyw un sydd dan anfantais neu sy’n cael ei ormesu gan y byd o’n cwmpas sy’n cael ei esgusodi fel ‘normalrwydd’ fel arall. Arloesi gyda Bis Design fel proses ddylunio, gan roi’r pŵer i unrhyw un i greu eu technolegau eu hunain i wella’r problemau unigryw rydym i gyd yn eu hwynebu mewn cymdeithas ar unwaith. Mae Queerbis am herio normalrwydd gyda’i fynegiant ei hun o Bis Design, gan arddangos amrywiaeth o’i dechnolegau cerfluniol ei hun sy’n mynd i’r afael â phroblemau mae wedi’u hwynebu fel person hoyw’n tyfu i fyny yng Nghymru. Mae’r dyfeisiau’n gweithredu fel catalyddion i hwyluso sgwrs am sut rydym ni i gyd yn byw ein bywydau a’r labyrinth rydym ni’n ei archwilio, gan roi dealltwriaeth bersonol o fywydau a phrofiadau pobl o’n cwmpas mewn ffordd fwy unigryw a rhyngweithiol. Hyrwyddo empathi ac addysg tra’n gofyn i bobl edrych ar y byd o’n cwmpas mewn ffordd newydd. Dylunio’r byd nad oeddem yn gwybod bod ei angen arnom.
