Jodie Grove

BA (Hons) Illustration

Jodie Grove is an illustrator who uses a variety of mediums, textures and colours to produce landscape paintings and visual stories in a bright, eye-catching manner. Her work is often inspired by intriguing stories of both a fictional and non-fictional nature. The love for landscapes and nature comes from growing up in the countryside of the Gower but was rediscovered in recent times due to the pandemic. Due to not having the equipment Jodie would use to produce her work, it was through recreating landscapes using the texture and colours of her markers along with a digital process to illustrate her local nature around her. This has since been worked, researched and adjusted to the style she uses today.

Darlunydd yw Jodie Grove sy’n defnyddio amrywiaeth o gyfryngau, gweadau a lliwiau i gynhyrchu paentiadau tirlun a straeon gweledol mewn modd disglair a thrawiadol. Mae ei gwaith yn aml yn cael ei ysbrydoli gan straeon diddorol o natur ffuglennol a ffeithiol. Mae ei chariad at y tirwedd a natur yn deillio o’i magwraeth yng nghefn gwlad Gŵyr, ond fe ailddarganfyddodd hynny’n ddiweddar yn ystod y pandemig. Am nad oedd yr offer y byddai Jodie fel arfer yn eu defnyddio i gynhyrchu ei gwaith ganddi, dechreuodd ail-greu tirweddau gan ddefnyddio gwead a lliwiau ei marcwyr ynghyd â phroses ddigidol i ddangos y byd natur lleol o’i chwmpas. Ers hynny, mae wedi mireinio, ymchwilio ac addasu yr arddull mae’n ei defnyddio heddiw.
