Rosemary Loweth

BA (Hons) Illustration

Rosemary Loweth is an obsessive sketchbook drawer and illustrator from Wales, who uses her practice as a tool to explore the world around her. Her work is often derived from personal experiences as she is a collector of dreams, memories and other curiosities. Creating atmospheres, and evoking feelings from imagery is a passion within her work. Rosemary loves to create work about a variety of subjects, which often come from inspirations of landscape, history, nature and literature.

The project Daydreaming is a silent sequential narrative that explores a sense of self and mental health. These drawings are based on Rosemary’s own memories and moments. Daydreaming encourages the viewer to take a step back and appreciate the little things in life.

Darlunydd a braslunwraig obsesiynol o Gymru yw Rosemary Loweth, sy’n defnyddio ei gwaith fel arf i archwilio’r byd o’i chwmpas. Mae ei gwaith yn aml yn deillio o brofiadau personol gan ei bod yn casglu breuddwydion, atgofion a rhyfeddodau eraill. Mae creu awyrgylch, ac ennyn teimladau o ddelweddau yn bwysig yn ei gwaith. Mae Rosemary yn mwynhau creu gwaith am amrywiaeth o bynciau, sy’n aml yn cael eu hysbrydoli gan y tirwedd, hanes, natur a llenyddiaeth.

Naratif dilyniannol tawel yw’r prosiect Daydreaming sy’n archwilio ymdeimlad o hunan ac iechyd meddwl. Mae’r darluniau’n seiliedig ar atgofion ac eiliadau o fywyd Rosemary. Mae Daydreaming yn annog yr arsyllwr i gymryd cam yn ôl a gwerthfawrogi’r pethau bach mewn bywyd.
