Over the past three years studying animation at Cardiff Met, I have been developing a minimalist style taking inspiration from graphical designers such as Saul Bass. I have based my major project around spaghetti westerns and how the style relates to the genre and atmosphere. I chose to do this piece of animation to make something akin to a movie introduction that would summarise the story or characters in a way that doesn’t spoil the “movie”.
Dros y tair blynedd diwethaf yn astudio animeiddio ym Met Caerdydd, rwyf wedi bod wrthi’n datblygu arddull finimalaidd, gan gymryd ysbrydoliaeth o ddylunwyr graffigol fel Saul Bass. Rwyf wedi seilio fy mhrif brosiect o amgylch ffilmiau cowbois Eidalaidd a sut mae’r arddull yn cysylltu â’r genre a’r awyrgylch. Dewisais wneud y darn hwn o animeiddio i wneud rhywbeth tebyg i gyflwyniad fideo a fyddai’n crynhoi’r stori neu gymeriadau mewn ffordd nad yw’n difetha’r “pictiwr”.
